Why is yoga beneficial for children?
What should my child expect to do in the first class? Depending on class level, Classes run for 45 or 60 minutes and begin with a centering and warm up. Classes will vary with mixtures of yoga postures (includes learning the names of postures in English and Sanskrit), animal poses, partner yoga, yoga art, games, stories, yoga inquiries, acro-yoga, breath work and meditation. Class typically closes with a relaxation technique. All classes will include some fun variation of postures, breathe work and meditation. What should my child wear to a yoga class? Dress your child in loose comfortable clothes. Please avoid jeans, skirts or dresses. For safety reasons, no jewelry. Should my child remove their shoes, coat, etc. before class? All classes are done barefoot. Shoes, coats, etc are to be removed before entering the practice area. Shoes should be neatly lined up outside the practice area. Coats and other belongings should be held by the parent or hung up in the area provided. Should parents stay or participate in the class? We currently do not offer Parent/Child classes. All classes are drop off classes. There is a small waiting area in the studio. Due to the size of the studio you may consider using this time for errands. Your child is in good hands, but please remember to pick up on time. Will I need to register my child in advance for a class? Yes we recommend you register in advance to reserve your child's space. This can be done by email or calling. All children's classes run for a fixed period, you may join at anytime (with a prorated tuition) provided there is space available. We will contact parents for early registration of each coming session. Current students will be insured a place in the next session should they choose to register. What are my payment options? Cash or Check. Checks are to be made payable to "Four Monkeys Yoga". See the Class Schedule & Rates for more details. |
